Dept. of Education Teacher License Moderate and/or Severe Special Needs (912) requiredSEI Endorsement requiredStrong knowledge of specialized instruction and special education regulations and proceduresExcellent computer/technology skillsWorking knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum FrameworksExcellent classroom management skillsResponsibilities:Serve as the liaison for a caseload of special education studentsTeach and coteach core academic courses both in inclusion and selfcontained classroomsModify curriculum and assessments for students on caseloadDirect and supervise Teaching AssistantsAdminister diagnostic assessments and produce reports for special education evaluationsWrite Individualized Education Plans and Progress ReportsFacilitate team meetingsProvide students with a safe orderly classroom environmentEnforce and apply all relevant school rules and policiesAssess student work and share feedback with students and other stakeholdersCollaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curricula and assessmentsProvide differentiated tiered instruction to meet the needs of all studentsCollaborate with guardians counselors administrators teaching assistants and other staff members to develop intervention plans for studentsProvide accommodations modifications and specialized instruction as required by Individualized Education Plans 504 Plans Individualized Health Care Plans and other types of intervention plansCommunicate regularly with parents/guardiansPerform standard duties as required by administration
