Manages the overall operation of a functional area within the Aviation Operations Division. Work may involve responsibility for planning coordinating and managing the operation(s) of Security Terminal Landside Airfield or other functional areas. Ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Security Administration regulations pertaining to airport operations. Monitors and operates computer security control and information systems.
Job Summary:
The Terminal Logistics Supervisor will oversee the loading dock operation logistics planning for all terminal deliveries and will manage Loading Dock Team Lead the Loading Dock Coordinator group. The Supervisor must ensure coverage of the dock and is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment while planning directing and controlling usage of the docks pods and nodes. This individual will ensure that all shifts are covered including when staff outages occur. The supervisor will work closely with all airport stakeholders to ensure safe and timely ramp and landside deliveries.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the terminal loading dock team to ensure that Airport tenant logistics operations are managed efficiently safely and securely. Will delegate daily work activities and responsible for performance management activities.
Ensure full coverage of the Loading Docks; working a regular shift as well as filling in to cover shifts when coordinators are out performing all their job responsibilities.
Serve as the primary contact for tenants and team to reach 24/7 for urgent issues and needed changes.
Train Loading Dock Team Lead and Coordinator Team on all necessary protocols and keep them abreast of any changes.
Coordinate Airport tenant logistics operations ensuring that all logistics and security policies procedures and regulations are followed.
Communicate overnight deliveries to all necessary departments and contractors.
Educate tenant company representatives and their contractors on delivery protocols and ensure compliance.
Work with tenant company representatives and stakeholders to manage the logistics of scheduled work.
Maintain the dock schedule to stagger deliveries and avoid long wait times.
Maintain open communications with tenant company representatives and resolve issues as they occur to streamline deliveries.
Report safety hazards and unsafe practices and procedures to tenant company representatives and the Terminal Logistics Manager.
Maintain records of preventative maintenance of dock equipment and order replacements as needed.
Ensure that dock area is kept free of debris. Keep empty crates pallets and kegs organized.
Ensure contractors do not impede loading dock operations and help develop work arounds as necessary.
Regularly walk the terminal basement hallways all delivery docks storage nodes and pods to ensure the area is kept orderly and ramp areas are free of FOD.
Identify and resolve unsafe practices and safety hazards. Report problems to tenant company representatives and the Terminal Property Manager.
Visit concession warehouses ensuring compliance with established policies.
Research develop build and implement programs and applications for the department.
Upkeep of all dock software to ensure peak performance.
Provide data analytics and reports to leadership on an as needed basis.
Support and act as backup for Terminal Logistics Manager as needed.
Engage in all construction projects that affect any delivery areas to ensure the tenant deliveries are clear and unobstructed.
Attend design meetings and assist in all decisions affecting the logistics operations.
Develop processes and programs to make the operation more efficient.
Other duties as assigned.
General Information:
Standard shift hours apply. Hours subject to change and overtime. Works assigned shift subject to emergency call back to work during emergencies urgent situations special events and inclement weather.
Valid drivers license with no more than 6 points and the ability to obtain and maintain a City driving permit.
Certain criminal convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate (or equivalent) with five (5) years of relevant work experience or a 2year college degree with three (3) years of relevant work experience or a Bahcelors level degree with one (1) year of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products and the ability to learn established scheduling and inspections software.
Knowledge of airport terminal and airfield operations.
Experience in a highvolume loading dock or similar environment requiring logistics expertise.
Previous management experience.
American Association of Airport Executives certification preferred.

Work will require long periods of standing walking and moving throughout the terminal

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
