Job Summary:
The school psychologist develops and implements comprehensive psychological services for students which includes direct psychometric and psychoeducational evaluations of Deaf DeafBlind Blind and/or multiply disabled students.
Job Duties
Additional responsibilities include: assisting in the development of educational/behavioral management programs for students through the use of diagnostic and educational/behavioral assessment skills; participating in MET (Multidisciplinary Education Team) and IEP (Individualized Education Plan) conferences and effectively communicating with other team members and parents; conducting psychoeducational evaluations of assigned new and continuing students; serving and monitoring classification of MD/MDSSI students; providing timely written reports which include recommendations for program planning; assisting teachers in developing and monitoring behavioral management plans through the use of diagnostic and behavioral assessment skills; providing counseling to referred student; monitoring students who take medication for behavioral therapy; assuming responsibility for professional growth and development through maintenance of professional memberships and workshops; participation in and/or generating research of relevance to school population; obtaining information about a variety of services offered to Deaf/Hard of Hearing school aged children outside the school and assist in obtaining such services when needed. Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as required. Participates in MIPS (Medicaid in Public Schools) as directed.
Position will be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or additional that occur from time to time. Remote Options: This position may be eligible for Remote Work.
Approximately three (3) years experience in psychological evaluation of deaf and hardofhearing or sensoryimpaired children
Experience as a member of a Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team
