Job Description

Classification Title:

Career Coach I

Classification Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Job Description:
  • Executes employer engagement strategy that aligns with the Centers strategic priorities to advance career development experience and recruitment opportunities for students. Engagement strategy includes industry research direct employer outreach followup and data tracking for the purpose of increasing recruitment opportunities for UF candidates. Responsible for increasing the number of recruiting companies through emails phone calls and consultations. Assist in fostering connections between thousands of employers and the UF community. Develops and maintains relationships with employers to increase recruitment activity at the University of Florida. Assist in maintaining quantitative and qualitative records detailing various types of interactions for use in assessment and reporting purposes to demonstrate impact. Responsible for tracking engagement for industry stakeholders. Maintains uptodate knowledge of employment trends and appropriate career development information. Serves as a coach conducting consultations and presentations to aid organizations in developing their recruitment strategy.
  • Oversees the employer module of Gator CareerLink and approvals of industry recruitment service requests including validating new employer accounts approving job postings and coordinating interview and employerhostedevent requests. Collaborates with team members to effectively arrange oncampus employer recruitment activities. Communicates with and provides employers quality customer service regarding requests. Develops regular reports on employer Gator CareerLink activity and communicates relevant recruitment services data and engagement information with the career center team.
  • Responsible for providing support for the centers employerrelated trainings programs and signature events. Events include career fairs employerhosted events industry education workshops annual conference and oncampus interviews. Support includes logistics and dissemination of relevant content and other items as appropriate. Leads standard operating procedures enhancements and trainings to center staff for areas of responsibility related to Gator CareerLink and industry reports.
  • Supports the daytoday management of traditional recruiting programs to advance industry engagement and strategic industry success outcomes to advance the mission of the career center. Daytoday administrative operations of traditional recruiting programs include the oncampus interview program information sessions employerhosted events campus career fairs and job postings.
Expected Salary:

50000.00

Required Qualifications:

Certified Career Services Practitioner (CCSP) within first year of employment

Preferred:

EDUCATION & TRAINING: Masters degree in marketing social sciences student personnel or human resources (HR)

EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of experience (minimum) in stakeholder engagement marketing sales HR career development or career coaching

Experience working with many populations

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of industry relations employment trends student development career services marketing and outreach strategies
SKILLS
Skilled in computer applications
Facilitative skills Interpersonal skills
Good presentations skills listening skills helping skills relationship management and program development

ABILITIES: Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
