Job Description
Job Title:EC Teacher Assistant/1:1
Purpose:To assist and support the teacher in the planning organizing and preparation of instructional materials including materials to teach daily living skills. Directlyassist with medical related & daily living skills such as behavior support changing/bathing feeding and assisting with other medical needs of our students (Not skilled nursing).This position is allotted based on the needs of students with significant deficits in daily living skills listed above.
Reports to:Assigned Teacher andSchool Administration(Principal and Assistant Principals)
Supervises:All students within the school environment.
Qualifications:
48 semester hours which include core courses with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from accredited institution; OR
Associate Degree or higher with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution; OR
WorkKeys testing in Math (min score 4); Reading (min score 4); and Writing (min score 4). In addition to workKeys employee must complete 2 college courses in math reading or technology within 2 academic years and have a 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution.
The fee for the WorkKeys Assessment is the responsibility of the applicant.
Completing the WorkKeys Assessment does not guarantee employment.
Requires lifting of 15 pounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To work primarily with students with disabilities to assist with physical medical or safety needs throughout the school day.
Additional duties with other EC students may be assigned when the student(s) primarily worked with is being assisted by other EC personnel or is absent.
This position currently does not require obtaining and maintaining a CDL.

Terms of Employment:
Ten Months; full benefits package offered with fulltime employment.
