Job Description
Adult Education is a cornerstone of the Hartford Area Career and Technology Centers (HACTC) mission to provide accessible highquality careerfocused education. The Adult Education Director leads and grows adult education programming that meets the evolving needs of the regional workforce and adult learners. This individual demonstrates a high degree of initiative actively identifies opportunities for new programs builds strong relationships with local industries and expands the impact and visibility of HACTCs Adult Education offerings. The role also supports broader CTE center functions such as workforce development cooperative education and community/business engagement. This position primarily operates outside of the school day; afternoon evening and some weekend hours are expected.
Qualifications:- Endorsed (or eligible for provisional endorsement) as a State of Vermont Assistant Director for Adult Education
- Strong leadership communication (written oral interpersonal) and technological skills
- Demonstrated experience in program development budgeting workforce partnerships and marketing
- Prior experience working in schools or organizations at a leadership or managerial level
- Ability to lead with vision adaptability and initiative in a fastpaced educational environment
- Demonstrates leadership and proactive initiative in identifying designing and launching new adult education programs aligned with regional labor market demands
- Collaborates with local employers chambers of commerce the Rotary Club and economic development organizations
- Establishes annual benchmarks for program growth enrollment and revenue
- Develops and coordinates customized training programs across the Upper Valley
- Pursues and manages grants to support program expansion and innovation
- Serves as the primary contact for adult students
- Provides academic and career counseling and support services
- Recruits mentors and supports adult education instructors
- Coordinates curriculum and materials with HACTC faculty and leadership
- Leads orientation and professional development for instructors
- Manages registration tuition contracts and logistics
- Oversees budgets and financial processes with the district business office
- Coordinates facilities use safety and compliance
- Prepares state and agency reports and hosts site visits
- Is present onsite during all evening and weekend courses
- Develops outreach strategy with the Outreach Coordinator
- Represents HACTC at forums luncheons and events
- Coordinates with Brookmeade Housing Development and HOA
- Builds community partnerships to increase visibility and enrollment
- Assists with local needs assessments and employment trend tracking
- Participates in HACTC strategic planning
- Supports Director and Coop Coordinator in external relations
- Engages with advisory committees and professional associations
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Launch at least two new programs annually based on community/employer demand
- Increase enrollment and revenue yearoveryear
- Cultivate five new employer partnerships per year
- Maintain positive visibility in the Upper Valleys business and community ecosystem
