Job Description

Accounts Payable Lead Automotive Dealership

We are seeking a reliable and detailorientedAccounts Payable Leadto join ourdealership accounting team. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the fullcycle accounts payable process training and supporting AP staff and ensuring timely accurate processing of vendor payments. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail a commitment to financial accuracy and the ability to lead process improvements in a fastpaced dealership environment.

Accounts Payable Lead Compensation and Benefits:

Accounts Payable Lead Competitive Salary: $27$30 per hour

Accounts Payable Lead Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Operations

  • Lead and coordinate all accounts payable activities across the dealership.
  • Review code and process vendor invoices matching purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
  • Manage weekly check runs ACH payments and credit card reconciliations in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure all payables are accurately recorded in the appropriate accounting period and assist with monthend closings and accruals.
  • Maintain and reconcile AP aging reports and vendor account statements.
  • Oversee petty cash reimbursements and prepare 1099 tax forms and supporting documentation.

Vendor & Internal Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries ensuring prompt issue resolution and positive relationships.
  • Answer vendor calls and emails with professionalism and clarity.
  • Maintain organized records and files in compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Provide training support and performance feedback to AP staff.
  • Identify and implement improvements in AP processes including opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure alignment with overall accounting goals.

Accounts Payable Lead Qualifications:

  • 3 years of fullcycle accounts payable experience; dealership or automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role is a plus.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP) Outlook and accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks manage time independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Teamoriented mindset with a proactive problemsolving approach.
