Job Description

The Payment Specialist confirms and balances all daily consumer payment postings performed by Posting Clerks. They are responsible for monitoring and performing quality checks balancing physical payments to bank deposits and performing research to resolve exceptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Physical Payment Balancing & Reconciliation: Balancing and confirming physical consumer payments posted by the GGN Posting Team.
  • Deposit Management: Preparing scanning and verifying the accuracy of deposits to send to the bank.
  • Exception Management: Performing research to resolve exceptions including unidentified payments. Calling on exceptions and reaching out to other departments as needed.
  • Bank Report Reconciliation: Reconciling bank reports to postings and forwarding wires to appropriate teams.
  • Automated Payment Reconciliation: Verifying daily reconciliation for automated payments.
  • Exception Resolution: Tracking all payment exceptions and forwarding to the correct party.
  • Payment Posting: Posting consumer payments to accounts.
  • Other: Performing other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE: 1 year minimum jobrelated experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and handling difficult reconciliations; Confident in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize work and complete daily balancing reports.
  • Maintain a collaborative work environment while abiding to our companys standard of professional ethics and behavior.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS.

EDUCATION: Associates FIELD OF STUDY: Accounting; Business

EXPERIENCE: Accounting experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Accounting knowledge
  • Proficiency with MS Office (word excel)
  • 10 key experience
  • Detail oriented
