Job Description
Job Title: Associate Accounting
Job Code: 24117
Job Location: Palm Bay FL
Job Description: We are seeking an Associate Accountant within the Space and Airborne segment accounting team to support the monthly accounting close process. The ideal candidate will have strong communication analytical skills and general understanding of U.S. GAAP in order to support and maintain relationships with business stakeholders. This position could be located in Palm Bay FL or Rochester NY.
Essential Functions:
- Execute monthly close activities including recording close entries account reconciliations financial statement review and analytical procedures
- Partner with program finance teams in the following areas:
- Interpret program results consult and process monthly accruals and analyze forecast to actual results
- Analyze system revenue setup in PeopleSoft to ensure appropriate calculations.
- Review contract revenue recognition to ensure compliance with ASC 606
- Maintain SOX control compliance
- Support external and internal SOX USG Contracting and substantive audit
- Prepare adhoc reporting and assist with special projects to include financial system support as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience In lieu of a degree minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and research skills
- Theoretical understanding of US GAAP and Accounting principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite programs
In compliance with pay transparency requirements in the state of New York the salary range for this role is $47500 $88000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
