Position Title: Asst Mens/Womens Diving Coach
Department: Intercollegiate Athletics
Term of Assignment:Term
Term End Date If Applicable: June 30 2026
FLSA Status: Exempt not eligible for overtime
Work Schedule: 10month position; time off arranged with supervisor; Variable shift/variable days depending upon playing schedule recruiting demands and department events.
Salary: Targeted Prorated Salary: $30000
Travel: 1025%
Brief Statement of Duties:Assist the Head Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving Coach with all assigned duties associated with the Intercollegiate Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving Programs.
Required Education: Course work leading to a degree Certificate
Discipline/Degree Area:
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Bachelors Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
NCAA learning portal proficiency or passing within one month of hire.
Possess a current CPR certification or the ability to obtain upon hire.
Current lifeguard certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Required Minimum Work Experience: Demonstrated successful diving playing experience at the collegiate or comparative level or diving coaching experience at the collegiate comparative or high school level.
No prior involvement with NCAA major rules violations.
Knowledge Skills Abilities or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of NCAA and conference compliance rules.
Education and Training Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of training effects.
Skills:
Instructing Teaching others how to do something. Ability to use various competitive dive training equipment such as drybelts wetbelts and trampoline.
Oral and Written Communication Active listening speaking and writing which ensures comprehension and understanding in both the speaker and target audience.
Time Management Managing ones own time and the time of others.
Social Perceptiveness Being aware of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Coordination Adjusting actions in relation to others actions.
Monitoring Monitoring/assessing performance of yourself other individuals or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.
Abilities:
Ability to use various computer software applications to include video editing systems.
Ability to organize effectively.
Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem only recognizing there is a problem.
Ability to come up with unusual or original ideas about a given topic or situation or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.
Ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationship with student athletes coaches assistant coaches administrators college faculty and staff alumni professional colleagues and the general public.
Ability to actively look for ways to help people.
Ability to work effectively under stressful and highpressure situations.
