Job Description

Reports to: Director of Special Education and Transportation CoordinatorEmployment Type: FullTime195 daysThe Head Minibus Driver is responsible for overseeing the districts minibus operations including route creation for the regular school year and Extended School Year (ESY) and dispatching minibus drivers. This position also serves as a backup driver in the event ofabsences. The role requires a School Bus Certificate and close collaboration with the Facilities Director for vehicle ResponsibilitiesRouting & Dispatch Assists in developing and adjusting minibus routes for both the regular school year and ESY ensuring efficiency and safety. Communicate route assignments and changes to drivers school staff and families as needed. Act as the primary dispatcher for minibus drivers providing realtime support for any onroute & Safety Compliance Serve as the spare driver in case of callouts or emergency situations. Ensure all drivers adhere to safety standards and district policies. Maintain knowledge of state and federal school transportation regulations and ensure & Other Duties Train and support new minibus drivers as needed. Keep accurate documentation for transportation records including driver schedules vehicle logs and compliance reports. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
