The Tax & Compliance Supervisor will work closely with the Accounting Supervisor to support General Accounting functions. The Tax & Compliance Supervisor will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizational assets liabilities profit and loss tax liabilities and other related financial activities. The Tax & Compliance Supervisor will report directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible to accurately preparing and filing state and federal tax documents. In addition tax supervisor develops tax strategies and policies that help the company maintain compliance with local and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Analyze monthly results and provide variance explanations vs. budget.
- Assist with Month End process by recurring journal entries accruals adjustments and reclassification.
- Consolidate Mexico and US monthly results and prepare financial packages for corporate.
- Monthly STAT to GAAP reconciliation
- Document and review current accounting practices identify areas of opportunity for improvement within current practices and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS in Accounting Finance or relevant degree.
- 57 years of accounting experience.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Expert MS Excell skills including: Vlookups Pivot Tables and Data Mining Analysis.
- Hands on experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks SAP etc.
- Experience with general ledger functions such as month end close procedures and account reconciliation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work on a team as well as individually.
- Builds relationships with other teams within the organization.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish.
Preferred
- CPA or CMA
- International accounting knowledge specifically in Mexico
