Mgr, Manufacturing Engineering, Hardware Engineering Services - Manufacturing

Amazon Web Services Hardware Engineering team is looking for experienced professionals to help build the worlds premier cloud computing platform. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering manager who is capable of operating in a fast paced ever changing multiplatform international manufacturing and production environment. Our Manufacturing Engineers work closely with our ODMs CMs internal AWS hardware and software development teams and with upstream component vendors to monitor and improve the incoming hardware quality of AWS products both proactively in the design phase as well as monitoring reporting and investigating any earlylife product failures. This role requires the engineer to be a technical contact and take on full ownership of the manufacturing launch and resolution of process issues. You will be the driver in getting production up and running understanding root cause of hardware failures and resolving gaps in our suppliers manufacturing processes.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words were the people who keep the cloud running. Lead manufacturing engineers to solve challenging problems.
Develop skills of team members
Manage quality at CM ODM and vendors
Provide OnSite support to new product launches
Design in quality and manufacturability on new designs of servers and racks
Root cause customer impacting issues and drive resolution

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related field
5 years managing a product or manufacturing quality or engineering team
3 years working with ODMs or CMs


Experience detecting determining root cause and resolving product quality issues
Working knowledge of compute and storage servers including a deep operational understanding of hard drives SSDs memory power supplies networking components system controllers and other peripherals
Experience driving partners to improve product quality
Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma projects
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
Experience with the project management of technical projects
