THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator you will oversee inmate work crews in theoperation maintenance and repair of a boiler plantthat generates medium pressure steam for heat and hot water.You will lead the efficientoperation of two 800 HP Cleaver Brooks Boilers; maintain auxiliary pumps fans and control equipment; and test water chemistry and water softening systems.This role requires the ability to analyze problems provide appropriate resolutionsand recommend efficiency improvements. In addition you will plan assignments monitor inmates using attendance logs conduct contraband searches and adhere to safety and control protocols at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 40 hours per week
- Work schedule to be determined
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46986.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation maintenance and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
