Job Description
This is a remote position.
Our client is looking for a skilled CAD Operator to convert 3D point cloud data into accurate 2D CAD drawings including floor plans elevations and sections. This role focuses on creating precise technical representations of existing buildings primarily small-scale residential projects for renovation or extension planning.
This is a long-term remote opportunity with flexible scheduling and room to grow as the company scales its laser scanning capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Convert point cloud data into 2D CAD drawings (floor plans elevations sections)
Trace lines from point cloud slices within CAD software
Work with data captured from 60-meter range laser scanners
Follow workflows to extract accurate 2D representations from 3D scans
Focus on residential buildings being assessed for renovations or extensions
Deliver clear design-free technical drawings representing existing structures
Requirements
Proven experience working with 3D point cloud data
Proficient in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Lite
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
Skilled at converting 3D point cloud slices into accurate 2D drawings
Strong attention to detail and technical precision
Access to a high-performance computer capable of running point cloud software
Reliable internet for remote collaboration
Scope
Start within the next month
Ongoing part-time (20 hours/week) with the potential to scale to full-time
Focus on residential renovation projects using scanned building data
Software and training provided by the client
Work is fully remote with scheduling aligned to GMT
