Duties And Responsibilities
Custodians provide cleaning and light maintenance services for the residence halls student apartments and associated areas. Custodians may work individually or on a team. This position is asked to interact in a professional and positive manner with students tenants and summer conferencing guests to accomplish the department mission and aid in retention. The primary emphasis is on: Cleaning public areas which include restrooms laundry areas stairwells etc Carpeted and hardsurface floor care Trash removal Set up and tear down of areas such as residence hall rooms/office spaces/public spaces dependent on department Other related custodial duties Actively participates as part of the team while performing other duties in support of the departments mission. This is a parttime position. Parttime employees work up to 16 hours a week enjoy flexibility in their schedule and are eligible to receive holiday pay and annual & sick leave pay on a prorated basis.

Stationary or moving about for extended periods of time Frequently moving transporting and placing containers/objects up to 30 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs. (items may include stacking chairs folding tables floor sealer bed frames dressers desks etc.) Moving up and down stairs occasionally while carrying containers/objects Moving up and down a step ladder Bending kneeling stretching and general moving about while stocking products Gripping handles on equipment Performing repetitive motions related to job duties Regular exposure to cleaning solutions Occasionally shovel snow
