QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED;
- Clear and valid Texas commercial drivers license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements;
- Must be at least18 years of age;
Experience:
- Two years of experience as a safe school bus driver;
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to effectively direct manage and motivatepersonnel;
- Ability to follow and give written and verbal instructions clearly and effectively;
- Ability to read and comprehend documents including district policies and department guidelines and procedures;
- Proficient map reading skills;
- Ability to use a computerized routing system;
- Ability to pass drug and alcoholtests and annual physical exam;
- Ability to complete required bus driver safety training;
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate effective time management skills;
- Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to safely operate a schoolbus;
- Ability to serve as a role model to the employees and students;
- Ability to effectivelymanage student behavior and motivate students;

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise allnonshop employees in the absence of the departmentDirector and the Assistant Directors/Area Directors;
- Assist theDirector and the Assistant Directors/Area Directors in determining the departmentalstructure and job descriptionsby providing support and recommendations to employees;
- Assist in the succession planning of key positions including coordinating evaluating and approving departmental operations;
- Coordinate evaluate and approve departmental operations;
- Direct and manage bus drivers and attendants at assigned transportation centers includingmentoring motivating and assisting employees withcustomer service ontime performance student management regular and professional communication with parents and campuses and writing clear and concise reports in a timely manner;
- Interview driver and attendant applicants make recommendations for hire and assist with the onboarding process as required;
- Confirm transportation eligibility incompliance with federal rules TEA and CFISD board policy;
- Process transportation requests for students and create appropriate student busstop locationsto safely serve the students;
- Determine student safety requirements submit work orders asnecessary andmaintain records of assigned equipment;
- Review edit and approve employee timesheets trip sheets and absences using the designated software;
- Ensure district policy and departmental guidelines are understood enforced and evident through oneonone meetings/coaching sessions staff/center meetings and inservice training;
- Serve as asubstitute driver attendant ordispatcher as needed;
- Respond to emergencies as needed;
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation an Assistant Director and the Area Director.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise andevaluate the performance of bus drivers and attendants.
EQUIPMENT USED:
School bus communication equipment computer standard office equipment.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Continual sitting reaching standing and repetitive hand and arm motions. Work outdoors and indoors. Moderate exposure to noise extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes. Frequent prolonged and irregular work hours (some nights and weekends as required).
