This position is a job rotation anticipated to last 12 months though may be extended or decreased due to business need. This rotation available for current regular status employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections Oregon Corrections Enterprises or Oregon Board of Parole Probation and PostPrison Supervision with their current mangers approval.

About the Job Your Role

In this role you will support the Administrator OISC management team and all OISC staff by offering operational direction developing program goals analyzing policies and technical guidance on sentence calculation polices and laws.

You will lead the development and revision of administrative rules DOC policies and operating procedures ensuring they support effective and legally sound offender sentence computation and audit processes. You will provide leadership and supervision to the Technical Program staff provide direction and training for OISC personnel and offer expert recommendations to the OISC Administrator DOC executive leadership and other managers based on thorough research and evaluation of program regulations legislative actions and technical policies.

Additionally you will represent OISC on multidisciplinary Department and interagency committees and project teams.

This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) as defined by statute.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelors Degree in Business or Public Administration Behavioral or Social Sciences Finance Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four (4) years professionallevel evaluative analytical and planning work.

OR;

Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven (7) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.

Working Conditions

This position will be required to work a professional work week that may exceed forty (40) hours. The Policy Manager is expected to accept responsibility for the operations of all staff assigned to the Technical Program Specialist Unit.

Your work and leadership must adhere to and further the rules policies and procedures of the Department and OISC. You must be able to work with computer systems and programs of varying complexities with minimal training to transact their work and to supervise the work of the Technical Program Specialist staff. The majority of the work performed is in an office setting however work may be performed in an authorized remote work location. As the Unit is located on the grounds of a correctional facility the incumbent is required to follow basic security protocols and will work around AICs. Meeting attendance and Unit representation requires infrequent instate travel that may include overnight stays.

In this position you will be oncall in the event of declared Unit and/or Department emergencies. You may backfill for other managers and the Administrator on a shortterm basis.

The salary range listed above is for nonPERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

Due to CJIS requirements related to system access there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position.
