Position Overview:
As a Universal Worker at MVAL you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort safety and dignity of residents. Your daily interactions with them will not only provide assistance with activities of daily living but also foster meaningful connections and companionship.
Responsibilities Include:
- Participates in planned inservice sessions of the Mesa View Director.
- Observes residents for any changes in condition and reports to the Director.
- Answers call system alerts promptly to offer aid.
- Keeps residents apartments clean and maintains a safe environment.
- Assists with distribution and serving of meals; clears tables after each meal.
- Assists or otherwise provides assistance for residents performing such daily living activities as: oral hygiene toileting bathing shaving dressing.
- Makes beds daily; changes bedding as required. Assists with laundry.
- Assists residents at the time of admission with personal items and helps to familiarize them with the community.
- Assists Mesa View Activities Coordinator in carrying out planned activities.
- Works toward maintaining each residents self respect personal dignity and personal safety.
- Assures that shift duties list is completed and documented.
- Maintains appropriate degree of confidentiality regarding resident and facility matter.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Completed high school education or GED equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Consistent availability for twelve hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Previous experience in Direct Patient Care is preferred.
- Basic working knowledge of computers for data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time stooping bending reaching lifting and using manual dexterity including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally 1025 pounds frequently and negligible to 10 pounds constantly.
