Financial ClerkMilton School DistrictLocation: Milton New HampshireFLSA Status: NonExempt Position PurposeThe Milton School District is seeking a detailoriented and skilled Financial Clerk to support the finance offices daily operations. This critical role ensures the accurate execution of payroll accounts payable vendor management and state and federal financial reporting. The Financial Clerk plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the districts financial systems and processes with a strong emphasis on accuracy compliance and timely communication. The ideal candidate will have experience in school district finance operations and demonstrate strong proficiency in School ERP Pro and Frontline systems. Essential Responsibilities Accurately process payroll for all district employees using School ERP Pro including wages benefits deductions and direct deposits. Maintain payroll records and complete state and federal reporting requirements such as W2s 941s and NHRS filings. Manage substitute payroll and collaborate with school personnel to ensure accurate time entry and validation. Submit timely employment changes (hires separations wage updates) to appropriate agencies. Serve as the districts primary user of Frontline Time & Attendance Absence Management and Central; monitor timekeeping workflows and leave balances. Ensure smooth data transfer between Frontline and School ERP Pro for accurate payroll processing. Oversee accounts payable functions including invoice processing check runs ACH payments and vendor file maintenance. Verify purchase orders ensure accurate account coding and resolve payment discrepancies. Assist with the preparation of monthly reports annual audits and required state and federal financial filings (e.g. DOE25). Support budget development tuition billing and mid/endofyear student and staff reporting. Provide clerical and administrative support as directed by the Director of Finance and Business Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework in finance accounting or business preferred. Experience in school district finance operations particularly payroll accounts payable and reporting. Proficiency with School ERP Pro and Frontline systems is strongly preferred. Excellent organizational skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and confidentiality. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to collaboration and customer service. Knowledge of state and federal reporting requirements related to payroll and finance. Ability to troubleshoot system issues and support staff in using financial and HR software tools.
