Student Conduct Counselor is responsible for student attendance supervision safety and wellness protocols and programs for all to: Principal or his/her designeeEquipment Used: Servers computers keyboards printers phone Promethean boards standard office EquipmentEducation Training Skills Experience & Licensure Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Counseling Psychology Social Work Education or related field A strong understanding of schools and child development Minimum of three years of experience in working with students and families Familiarity with public school environment Ability to organize and present effective training programs Communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with a team Requires demonstration of strong collaborative skills to work as part of a support team to assist student/classroom learning and activities Problem solving skills to support student success Verbal and written communication skills Organizational skills to balance demands of a multitasking position Technology skills in the areas of office software student educational software student database software student assistive learning software and office equipment operation. Requires knowledge in school rules practices and law; NH Department of Education rules and school requirements; NH Department of Child and Youth Services guidelines;NH Judicial System rules; and School Board policy. Also requires knowledge of NH Public School Standards and behavioral interventions. Requires excellent attention to detail and follow through to meet legal requirements and reporting requirements significant confidentiality responsibilities. Clear Criminal Background Check DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Exercise proactive leadership in promoting and supporting the Districts vision mission and goals. 2. Set high standards and expectations for self and others. 3. Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities and network with educational colleagues to continually upgrade knowledge and skills. 4. Supervise coordinate and support student safety and wellness programs to address harassment sexual harassment and sexual violence; bullying; gang activity and hazing; violence theft destruction and weapons; misconduct and discipline; attendance; residency; illegal substances; child abuse and neglect; suicide; and physical social and emotional wellness. 5. Recognize and resolve student safety and wellness issues concerns or problems. 6. Promote student safety and wellness programs to school staff students parents and community members. 7. Supports behavior intervention services such as student behavior assessments behavior plan development and teacher consultation. 8. Respond quickly to emergency situations and provide crisis intervention in coordination with other school personnel. 9. Tabulate analyze and disseminate throughout the school year student behavior data including attendance discipline and other relevant data in support of student learning.10. Provides staff development support in classroom management and other behavioral strategies. This includes modeling coaching and providing feedback to classroom staff.11. Assist in the implementation of programs for students with behavioral and/or mental health needs (including but not limited to autism and emotional disturbance)12. Implement and promote positive behavior intervention support throughout the District including systems at individual school sites.13. Collect various data in accordance with students IEPs behavior support/intervention plans and District procedures.14. Maintain student communication logs attendance logs and student behavior logs15. Promote a safe learning environment through continuous supervision of assigned student(s) in classrooms cafeteria on school grounds to/from home and school on community outings and other locations as assigned.16. Assist the Principal and teachers in matters of attendance absenteeism and tardiness.17. Maintain SIS and other student academic and behavior databases relating to attendance discipline and pupil counting.18. Support the development 504 plans for students in conjunction with the school counselor19. Demonstrates a strong professional desire to contribute to the education profession20. Works towards effective communication skills in relationships with students peers parents and administrative staff21. Take part in the district student services team.22. Promote and lead the support of student safety and wellness23. Attend professional educational development24. Attend school board meetings deliberative sessions and similar meetings as required; and25. Perform all other duties as assigned by the building principalLEGAL and ETHICAL DUTIES:1.
