Special Education Teacher (Inclusion/ECP)

Attleboro High School

Start Date: August 2025 with orientation days prior

General education and special education staff work collaboratively to ensure access to the general education curriculum. Services are delivered in a variety of models including: coteaching pushin small group 1:1 pullout and substaintally separate specific academic courses.The ECP program provides a highlystructured environment that emphasizes developing and strengthening students skills in academics language communication problemsolving and organization.academics language communication problemsolving and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree preferred

Massachusetts Licensure as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (512) Massachusetts Licensure inMath or Science (912) preferred

Exceptions to the above qualifications shall be made as the Superintendent deems appropriate and acceptable

JOB GOAL/PURPOSE:To ensure that students with an IEP receive services in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations.

REPORTS TO:Building Principal and/orDesignee

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Addresses the needs of diverse learners in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
  2. Administers assessments interprets evaluations and writes reports.
  3. Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results integrates findings with other disciplines provides recommendations and develops Individual Education Programs (IEPs) based on TEAM recommendations.
  4. Collaborates with TEAM members to implement specially designed instruction to support educational socialemotional/behavioral needs and transition planning (1422) in accordance with students IEP.
  5. Collaborates with the TEAM to determine and implement appropriate accommodations for classroom assessments and standardized examinations for special education students.
  6. Completes all assigned paperwork for the special education process as required by state and federal regulations.
  7. Provides targeted and evidencebased interventions.
  8. Fulfills all case management responsibilities associated with the IEP.
  9. Maintains accurate complete and confidential student records.
  10. Involvement at the community system building and student levels for schoolwide initiatives such as socialemotional learning Universal Design assistive technology and program development.
  11. Serves as a resource to develop effective teaching strategies for all students.
  12. Responsible for annual reviews written progress notes parent/teacher conferences and proctoring state assessments.
  13. Uses evidencebased research and continuing education to address MA frameworks and to meet licensure requirements.
  14. Performs other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor and/or designee.

EXPERIENCE:

Safety Care trained preferred

12 years as a special educator

ELL and SEL training preferred

Google Classroom and Meet experience preferred
Reading and Math Intervention experience preferred
