Programs Responsible for fulfilling LADDs mission to empower adults with developmental disabilities to live work and connect; engages directly with developmentally disabled adults and their families based on their prescribed individual needs. Reports To Program Manager

Summary The Social Guide facilitates communitybased activities for small groups of adults with developmental disabilities emphasizing community inclusion. Helps people receiving services identify and participate in activities that promote increased independence social skill development and community inclusion. This position will work as a Social Guide as well with the other community programs: Supported Employment HLADD and SOARessential Functions: - Transport group to activities throughout the greater Cincinnati area.
- Professionally drive and maintain a van.
- Plan and implement a variety of activities out in the community that reflect the preferences and interests of individuals served.
- Behavior and interpersonal management of individuals served.
- Assist with collaborative decisionmaking.
- Foster connections natural supports and inclusion at a variety of community sites.
- Provide direct care including assistance with eating and toileting as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Track the progress of the goals of individuals served.
- Positively represent LADD the Developmental Disabilities community and be a good role model to individuals served by maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
- Models The LADD Way (TLW) ensures their performance is aligned with TLW and the policies and practices set for the department.
- Keeps uptodate on all relevant training and certifications.
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete annual assessments as required
Education/Skills & Experience. - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Current Medication Administration Certification (as applicable).
- Current NMT Physical required.
- Valid drivers license with fewer than six points and be insured
Work Environment & Physical Demands - Work schedule varies and may include some evenings and weekends
- Work is performed in a variety of community settings including offices museums public facilities loading docks assembly areas and outdoor areas.
