Job Description

SUMMARY

The Instructional Technology Resource Coach (ITRC) is responsible for working directly with teachers on integrating technology in instruction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plan and conduct collaborative model lessons that demonstrate the integration of instructional technology using current technologies.
  • Collaborates with staff to plan and design lessons that effectively meet the needs of all students and are integrated with contentbased standards and state and national technology standards.
  • Identify the best technology tools for integrated learning projects; facilitate and guide students and staff in the successful completion of integrated learning projects.
  • Deliver appropriate coaching training and resources to support the professional growth of instructional staff.
  • Promote the use of online and curricular resources for staff and students.
  • Coordinate professional development for staff which focuses on the integration of technology to improve teaching and learning.
  • Monitor the use of instructional technology to ensure that resources and activities enhance the districts curriculum vision mission and goals.
  • Assist in the creation and management of new technology initiatives including supporting the change from traditional modes of instruction to innovative modes which utilize technology and address differentiated learning styles.
  • Remain current in the instructional technology profession through participation in professional associations conferences research and publishing.
  • Lead professional development for staff students parents and community members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Instructional Technology Supervisor.
  • Support statemandated testing by serving as the school testing coordinator for SOL VAAP and WIDA testing
  • Provide tech support for all schoolwide testing administration.
  • Serve as a school testing coordinator for SOL testing.
  • Specific testing coordinator responsibilities may include participation in the following noninclusive list of activities: creation of schoolwide testing schedules providing training for test examiners working with school administration and the division testing coordinator to resolve testing irregularities ensuring that students receive appropriate accommodations on their state tests using PearsonAccess NEXT to administer test sessions and print test tickets other testing related responsibilities as deemed appropriate by school administration or the division testing coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must hold valid Virginia teaching license have minimum of three years successful fulltime teaching experience in a K12 school have demonstrated effective use and integration of educational technology and effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills for working effectively with teachers administrators staff and students.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree (B. A.) from fouryear college or university. Masters preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to work well with others ability to communicate well with administrators and other division employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS

Hold a valid Virginia drivers license. Hold a current Virginia teaching license.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

EMPLOYMENT:

200 days per year teacher salary schedule.

EVALUATION

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
