Job Description

Salary range is $154k to $268k with a midpoint of $211k. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint however we may go slightly higher based on experience internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Director of Workforce Development is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and implementation of workforce programs aimed at improving the skills capabilities and employability of individuals working both within and around Sound Transit. This position requires strategic leadership partnership building and the ability to manage workforce development initiatives that align with industry needs and economic growth objectives. The Director will ensure that workforce development programs are effective efficient and accessible to all participants and will drive efforts to close skill gaps increase employment opportunities and promote lifelong learning. This position will lead a team of Workforce Development staff and partner closely with the Labor & Workforce Development team to create a balanced and cooperative workforce development program that is in alignment with organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional positionspecific duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Business Administration Education Public Administration or a related field. Eight years of experience in workforce development education human resources or related role; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Six years of leadership budgetary planning and workforce management experience.
