Job Description
A growing organization is seeking a motivated and visionary Peer Support Director to build and lead its peer support department from the ground up. This leadership role involves developing the program structure hiring and training peer staff and establishing workflows that reflect recoveryfocused values and promote empowerment through peerdriven support and community connection. The ideal candidate will bring lived experience strong leadership abilities and a passion for creating impactful peer support services.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop and implement the structure and vision for the peer support department.
Recruit hire train and supervise peer support staff ensuring alignment with recoveryfocused values.
Establish workflows policies and procedures to support effective peer service delivery.
Foster a culture of empowerment respect and community connection for both staff and participants.
Collaborate with leadership and clinical teams to integrate peer support within the broader service model.
Serve as an advocate for peer services internally and externally building relationships with community partners.
Oversee program evaluation quality improvement and reporting efforts.
Provide mentorship and guidance to peer support staff promoting professional development and growth.
Ideal Qualifications:
Lived experience with recovery or peer support is strongly preferred.
Proven leadership skills and experience building or managing peer support or similar programs.
Strong understanding of peer support principles recovery models and communitybased services.
Excellent communication organizational and teambuilding abilities.
Ability to create systems workflows and program infrastructure from the ground up.
Passion for fostering empowerment connection and hope among individuals receiving services.
