The Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The NP provides healthcare in critical care settings including surgical and medical ICUs. The NP has didactic education clinical competency and national certification in identified area of clinical practice. The NP demonstrates medical knowledge clinical judgment technical competence professionalism interpersonal communication skills timely and compliant documentation and is responsible for professional development and competency validation. The NP has an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and application..
Our CVICU is expanding and we are looking for Advanced Practice Providers who are seeking a challenging career in Cardiac Critical Care in one of the leading Heart Transplant Centers in the world.

Department Summary
The Vanderbilt Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) utilizes a multidisciplinary approach specializing in the care of adult general and congenital cardiology cardiac surgery thoracic transplant and vascular patients. Our mission is to provide the highest level of care by applying evidencebased practice compassion education in caring for our patients and their loved ones. The CVICU upholds a culture of change in order to adapt to a dynamic and challenging healthcare system. The CVICU promotes a respectful teamoriented qualityfocused work environment that is inviting and gratifying to all patients family members and staff.

pre & postcardiac surgery
pre & postvascular surgery
heart failure
STEMI
PostPCI (percutaneous
coronary intervention)

$15000 Sign On Bonus for Candidates with a minimum of 1 or more years of Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Critical Care Physician Assistant experience*
*The signon bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months. The signon bonus is only available for fulltime positions.
