Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a sharp reliable and curious System Engineer with 35 years of experience to join our core engineering team. Youll help lay the foundation for a highperformance scalable and secure infrastructure powering millions of fans around the world.
This is a careerdefining opportunity to work with a startup building cuttingedge backend systems using Rust and other modern technologies. Youll collaborate directly with our lead engineer frontend/mobile teams and DevOps to design build and manage core infrastructure and system services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on backend architecture for a realtime socialfirst sports platform.
- Develop and maintain core services in Rust Elixir (Erlang VM) or similar performant languages.
- Work with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines containerization and system observability.
- Support infrastructure scaling caching and performance optimization.
- Ensure security best practices are implemented at the system level.
- Document system designs APIs and internal tooling.
- Contribute to discussions on architecture data models and platform integration.

Qualifications :
Required Skills & Experience
- 35 years of handson experience as a systems or backend engineer.
- Strong programming experience in Rust Go Elixir or similar.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable microservices or monoliths.
- Good understanding of Linux systems networking and cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS GCP or bare metal).
- Experience with Docker Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL Redis and other modern data stores.
- Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
- Comfort working in fastpaced startup environments with limited structure.
Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience at an earlystage startup.
- Familiarity with Rustbased development workflows.
- Experience working on chat social gaming or live score apps.
- Interest in football or sports platforms.
- Understanding of distributed systems and eventdriven architecture.

- Deferred salary until funding is secured
- All current team members are working on a deferred compensation basis we lost our funding two months ago and made the decision to build while we raise. This comes with real risk. Closing funding could take two months or it could take five but were committed to this vision and were looking for someone whos equally passionate and resilient.
