As a Counterparty Credit Risk Associate on the Prime Brokerage Coveage team you will be a key player in managing and mitigating counterparty credit risk. You will assess market trends validate risk reports and serve as a subject matter expert on Prime Brokerage margining methodology. Counterparty Credit Risk is an independent risk organization within Wholesale Credit Risk covering OTC Derivatives (cleared and noncleared) Futures and Options Securities Financing and Securities Prime Services CCPs and Commodities at a counterparty level.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a key team member supporting Prime Brokerage Risk Coverage.
- Identify analyze monitor and escalate counterparty exposures within Prime Brokerage.
- Validate daily risk reports and escalate potential risk concerns to credit officers senior risk managers and the front office.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert on Prime Brokerage margining methodology and systems.
- Analyze client margining requests assess margin adequacy against stress exposures and potential risks and make recommendations for approval.
- Develop indepth knowledge of prime brokerage clients and formulate views on product risk appetite reviewing and challenging business stakeholders riskrelated questions.
- Monitor risk and margin adequacy across top Prime Brokerage clients.
- Develop a strong understanding of the firms Counterparty Stress Analysis Framework and apply it to analyze and monitor counterparty exposures within Prime Brokerage.
- Manage and contribute to firmwide projects around key counterparty credit exposure metrics and technical enhancements.
- Assist in the Credit Agenda to proactively develop and integrate new technology into the teams workflow and processes.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in risk management quantitative financing or trading fields.
- Knowledge of markets and ability to assess the impact of market trends on client exposures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with complex data to make risk recommendations.
- Motivated with a strong sense of ownership of the teams mandate.
- Excellent writing presentation and communication skills along with organizational project management control and negotiation expertise.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and familiarity with efficient AI prompts and training.
- Basic to moderate proficiency in coding execution and data aggregation platforms and languages (e.g. Python R Tableau).
