Overview:
The Senior Manager Inbound Warehousing and Inventory Management is responsible for leading all aspects of inbound logistics operations including shipping and receiving material handling inventory control and the management of FORTNAs internal trailer fleet that supports intersite material transfers. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient material flow optimal inventory accuracy and timely supply of components to support Metal Fabrication and Assembly operations. As a senior leader in the supply chain organization this position is critical to the success of endtoend manufacturing support and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Lead and manage the warehousing receiving inventory management and material movement functions across multiple manufacturing sites.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve inbound logistics processes reduce material handling costs and improve throughput.
    • Provide leadership coaching and career development for warehousing and inventory management teams to build highperforming engaged teams.
  • Material Handling and Receiving Operations:
    • Oversee daytoday shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate receipt of materials.
    • Ensure proper documentation labeling and verification of all inbound shipments.
    • Manage unloading staging and putaway processes to maintain flow and material traceability.
  • Inventory Management and Control:
    • Lead inventory control activities including cycle counting inventory accuracy reporting and reconciliation.
    • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
    • Implement best practices in warehouse layout material storage and handling methods.
  • Internal Fleet and InterSite Logistics:
    • Oversee the management of the internal trailer fleet used for transporting materials between manufacturing sites.
    • Ensure efficient route planning scheduling and compliance with transportation regulations.
    • Monitor fleet utilization maintenance and cost effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency reduce waste and improve service levels.
    • Apply lean principles 5S and visual management practices across warehousing and inventory functions.
  • Collaboration and CrossFunctional Engagement:
    • Partner with Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering Quality and Project Management teams to ensure timely material availability and seamless support of production operations.
    • Support the introduction of new processes systems and material flows.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy receiving efficiency warehouse productivity and trailer fleet performance.
    • Ensure accountability for achieving safety delivery quality and cost objectives.
  • Shipping Operations:
    • Oversee daytoday shipping and truck scheduling to ensure timely and accurate shipment of materials.
    • Ensure proper documentation labeling and verification of all outbound shipments.
    • Manage pack plans staging and loading processes to maintain material traceability safe efficient outbound shipments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Operations or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse and inventory operations with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments preferably in Metal Fabrication and Assembly operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) ERP systems (Infor preferred) and inventory control practices.
  • Familiarity with Lean 5S and visual management methodologies.
  • Experience managing transportation assets and intersite logistics.
  • Demonstrated leadership problemsolving and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and crossfunctional collaboration abilities.

Work Environment:
This position operates in both a professional office and warehouse/manufacturing environment. It involves regular interaction with shop floor operations and material movement activities.

The base salary range for this role is $100700 to $151100. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location level jobrelated knowledge skills experience and performance.
