About St. Johns Prep St. Johns Prep is an inclusive Catholic Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for young men in grades 6 through 12. Position Overview and Responsibilities The Director of Parent Engagement serves as the central point of contact and key resource for all parent and grandparent engagement efforts at St. Johns Prep. Reporting to and partnering with the Managing Director of Annual Giving the Director is responsible for leading the PREP Parent Council (the Schools parent volunteer organization) and overseeing parent and grandparent events communications and engagement initiatives. In addition the Director supports the Schools fundraising goals by soliciting parents to generate philanthropic support. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serve as the central point of contact for parent engagement across campus acting as a key resource for parents seeking meaningful ways to get involved at St. Johns. Lead the PREP Parent Council including volunteer recruitment member engagement meetings events and volunteer opportunities in collaboration with the Executive Board. Partner with Campus Ministry Parent Community Formation the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Community Development (MACD) and other campus departments and programs to ensure parent engagement efforts are coordinated strategic and accessible. Plan and execute several annual events for parents and grandparents including parent welcome receptions and Grandfriends Days. Manage a portfolio of parent prospects and donors; engage solicit and steward parent donors to support fundraising goals. In collaboration with the Managing Director of Annual Giving educate parents on the importance of a robust annual fund and the need for philanthropic support. Develop and implement strategies to increase parent donor participation with a targeted emphasis on securing leadershiplevel gifts ($1000). Interact regularly with members of the faculty and staff to promote Advancement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. Experience in customer service relationship management education advancement or a related field. Prior experience in fundraising volunteer management or parent engagement strongly preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities meeting deadlines and adapting to changing circumstances. Selfmotivated with a proven record of working independently taking initiative and exercising sound judgment. Comfort with basic data gathering analysis and database systems; experience with fundraising databases (e.g. Raisers Edge) a plus. Physical Requirements: Standing/sitting for long periods of time. Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday. Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone. Use of hands and fingers for manipulation and using computer keyboard and educational tools. Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision and depth perception.
