As a key member of the leadership team the Assistant Principal will work in close partnership with the Principal to implement school improvement strategies elevate instruction strengthen school climate and hold high expectations for both students and role is ideal for a leader with a strong background in instructional leadership and student discipline who is committed to addressing the needs of an underperforming school and who thrives in environments requiring focus urgency and accountability. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESSchool Improvement & Academic Leadership Partner with the Principal to lead efforts to raise student achievement across all content areas Support the implementation of improvement plans aligned with state and district accountability goals Help build a culture of high expectations academic rigor and continuous improvement Use data to monitor student progress and guide instructional adjustments Support the development and implementation of evidencebased instructional strategies Participate in classroom observations staff coaching and professional development planningStudent Discipline & School Culture Lead schoolwide behavior systems with a focus on consistency equity and restorative practices Manage discipline cases interventions and family communication in collaboration with counselors & support staff Promote a safe orderly and inclusive learning environment Supervise students during transitions meals dismissal and schoolsponsored activities Contribute to a school culture where all students are known supported and challengedOperational Leadership & Support Serve as Acting Principal when necessary Oversee aspects of daily school operations including schedules safety procedures and building use Support faculty and staff with logistics communications and schoolwide routines Ensure compliance with district policies state laws and accreditation requirementsFamily & Community Engagement Serve as a liaison between families the school and community partners Communicate proactively with families regarding behavior attendance and student performance Support efforts to increase family involvement in school improvement initiatives Represent the school at meetings and events within the district and community REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Valid New Hampshire Principal Certification Masters Degree in Educational Leadership Education or a related field Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience preferably in middle or high school Proven experience or clear potential in supporting school turnaround or improvement efforts Expertise in student behavior management and restorative discipline practices Demonstrated ability to lead change build relationships and drive results Commitment to educational equity and culturally responsive leadership PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience as an administrator or teacher leader in a lowperforming or turnaround school Background in MTSS traumainformed practices or school improvement planning Familiarity with competencybased education datadriven instruction and teacher coaching Strong skills in conflict resolution crisis management and team facilitation ABOUT MILTON SCHOOL DISTRICTMilton School District part of SAU 64 is committed to academic excellence student wellbeing and equitable access to learning.
