JOB SUMMARY:The Hotel Front Desk Trainer will direct new hire training in addition to monthly department training for Front Office Hotel Staff. Performs Spotlight on Success G.U.E.S.T. and F.O.C.U.S. to employees ensuring consistent guest skills are provided to all guests. Assists Front Office with daily operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides excellent customer service to guests.
  • Coordinates required Front Desk responsibilities to ensure accurate guest registration.
  • Coordinates with Training Department to schedule and conduct training sessions for department.
  • Train all Front Office Staff (Front Desk Valet Bell Staff Concierge Rooms Controller and Butlers. Implements training refresher topics. Introduces new training procedures as required.
  • Completes necessary daily reports in a timely manner.
  • Assists Front Desk employees with questions or problems that may arise. Supports the Hotel Manager.
  • Provides positive comments to employees as well as corrective comments to negative actions.
  • Maintains daily break schedule. Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old or older.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Minimum oneyear customer service experience required prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous Training Hotel Room Reservations and/or PBX experience would be a plus.
  • Must possess excellent oral and communication skills.
  • Must be able to get along with coworkers and work as a team.
  • Must present a wellgroomed appearance.
  • Must be able flexible.

PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Must be able to maneuver in and around Front Desk area and other hotel/casino areas. Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations. Must be able to respond calmly when handling guests and employee conflicts. Must be able to speak write and understand English. Must be able to stoop and bend as well as maneuver up and down stairs. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to be able to type grab grip pull hold tear sort reach and file appropriate paperwork. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to operate the following equipment: computer 10 key adding machine safe lock key machine phones credit card machine speed printer fax machine and copier. Must be able to perform physical and mental job duties of Front Desk Person. Must be able to recognize and respond to individuals with questions.
