Current year salary scales may be viewed on our school addition to the general teacher job description and duties listed below the choral music teacher must also meet the following requirements and perform these additional duties:Primary Purpose:Provides choral instruction and encourages students to develop the skill and ability to excel in vocal/choral ability; responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each student; provide opportunities for students to participate in a highlevel challenging curriculum in the areas of Degree requiredMusic Degree (Vocal/Choral Emphasis); Teacher Certification (Vocal/Choral Emphasis) EC12 requiredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:General knowledge of teaching techniques and proceduresAdditional Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of overall operation of choral music programsAbility to manage budget and personnelKnowledge of state TMEA policies governing choirAbility to implement policy and proceduresAbility to interpret dataStrong communication public relations and interpersonal skillsExperience:At least three years of successful choir experience including classroom teaching and choral program administration Responsibilities and Duties:(The following statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned and should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities skills efforts or working conditions that may be assigned or skills that may be required.)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Establishes performance criteria for competition and evaluates students musical abilities initially and on a regular a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student musical group and supervises choir activities contests and practice sessions that promote individual growth in musical skills teamwork and appropriate concert/performance informed of and ensures compliance with all ACA/TMEA rules and and retains student membership in the choir program as well as monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular with the Principal in scheduling competitions and coordinating with other members of the school staff in planning and implementing instructional goals and objectives for the overall educational development of student in the selection of equipment and instructional maintains and files all reports records inventory and additional required data using a music management system and other required with policies established by federal and state laws State Board of Education rules and the local board with choir students and supervises group during choir competitions in assigned proper and appropriate discipline among students during choir contests practice sessions and while on trips off school by example and through instruction sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of choir and maintains open lines of communication with student musicians and their the districts mission and goals for the choir to the community and solicits its support in realizing the awareness of districtcommunity needs and initiates activities to meet those identified the use of appropriate and effective techniques for community and parent professional skills appropriate to job behavior that is professional ethical and and responds to needs related to job and coordinates a continuing evaluation of the teaching program and implements changes based on the all the rules regulations and policies of Arlington Classics Academy Middle and follows directives from attendance policy as assigned by and Responsibilities of the General TeacherPrimary Purpose:Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth.
