Job Summary:The Assistant Controller role is essential in supporting our expanding operations and will play a key part in driving our success as we scale our business. The Assistant Controller is responsible for partnering with the operations staff to drive operational success. This role involves supporting plant financial reporting budgeting forecasting and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The Assistant Controller will work closely with various departments to optimize operational efficiency and drive strategic initiatives.Primary Activities/Duties: - Work closely with Production Planning to develop monthly Plant forecasts (Production Sales Profit & Loss Statement).
- Lead the preparation of the monthly Production Plant P&L.
- Monitor and manage department expense budgets.
- Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Support the calculation of cost center rates and annual cost roll in SAP.
- Support Capital Budgeting process including calculation of return on investment
- Perform make/buy analysis in support of Plant production mix
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for inventory optimization.
- Support annual physical inventory and cycle counts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience: - Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field.
- 35 years of proven experience in manufacturing plant environment.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP package) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
Relationship:Direct Contacts: Director of Finance & Controlling CFO FPA Manager Key Management team members and Finance team members.Indirect Contacts: All other departments throughout the CorporationMental Requirements: Work in a fastpaced environment adapt to assignment changes easily ability to multitask learn office procedures and learn and use new software. Must be detail oriented; communicate effectively via oral and written communications with all levels of employees customers and vendors. Selfstarter willing to work through and seek answers to ongoing new requirements. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Safety Requirements:Wear safetytoed footwear safety glasses with side shields hearing protection and additional personal protective equipment where required.Direction & Decision Making: Complete directives given either verbally or written make and assist in determining logical decisions.Work Environment:Must work in both office and plant floor environment. Manufacturing areas exposure to hot and cold temperatures dust.Physical Requirements: Requires short durations on the manufacturing floor and/or long durations in the office at a computer. Stand walk bend twist and reach frequently throughout the work shift. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds waist level.
