Job Summary:
This Medical Assistant position requires providing clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic setting. The role involves floating between various clinics within a specified geographic area with a 30-day trial period to determine clinic placement. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare familiarity with healthcare terminology and proficiency in Epic. A Washington state Medical Assistant license is required.
Location: Olympia Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Providing clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers.
- Assisting with patient care including vital signs specimen collection and medication administration (as allowed by scope of practice).
- Performing routine clinical tasks such as EKGs (if applicable).
- Maintaining patient records and charting in Epic.
- Managing equipment and supplies.
- Answering phones and directing calls.
- Assisting with patient registration and scheduling.
- Floating between multiple clinic locations as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Medical Assistant certification (MA-C).
- Active Washington state Medical Assistant license.
- BLS certification.
- Experience in healthcare including healthcare terminology.
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system.
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Prior experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Experience with specific medical equipment (e.g. vents trachs PICC lines).
Special Considerations:
- Position requires floating between multiple clinic locations within a 50-mile radius (Hawks Prairie Lacey College Street Lacey West Olympia Chehalis Rochester and Centralia).
- 30-day trial period to determine permanent clinic placement.
- Candidate must have their own reliable transportation.
- Local candidates preferred. Temp-to-perm is the ideal outcome but not mandatory.
Scheduling:
- 5 eight-hour days per week.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
- Clinic assignment determined after a 30-day trial period taking into account clinician preferences.
