Description of Work
The position is a Radiologic Technology Supervisor located at Central Prison Healthcare Complex in Raleigh which houses approximately 1318 close custody male offenders.
This is a professionallevel position that will provide basic and special Diagnostic radiological services as ordered by the medical staff. Also this position will provide supervision to XRay Technicians. Duties include:
Oversees prescreening of MRI patients for metallic objects within the body
Plans schedules and supervises work of subordinate staff.
Evaluates equipment and supplies and make respective recommendations concerning the same.
Coordinates reading of MRI studies by offsite radiologist (s).
Assist in the maintenance of adequate inventories of film supplies reagents etc.

To qualify for this position applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Knowledge of working digital XRay equipment and PACs;
Knowledge of human anatomy and proper positioning patients to secure desired radiographs;
Ability to give first aid or handle an emergency situation;
Knowledge of safety procedures to prevent radiation hazards.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Education Development diploma and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program AART Registered or eligible for registration and four years of experience in the operation of radiographic equipment and instruments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Supplemental and Contact Information

The team of physicians nurses behavioral health services dental services psychiatric services pharmacy services and licensed healthcare administration services work together to provide emergent acute routine and chronic health care as well as preventive medicine at all prison facilities. They also coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and wellbeing towards a safe transition from prison improving public health and decreasing recidivism.
