JOB TITLE: MANUFACTURING TRAINING MANAGER DEPARTMENT: PLASTER MFG. CENTER

SALARY RANGE: Level IIA $60000 $80000 FLSA: EXEMPT

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Executive Director Center for Advanced Manufacturing

SCHEDULE DETAILS: Full Time/12 month position/PEERS

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Training Manager is responsible for developing and delivering shortterm workforce training programs that serve regional employers and support the upskilling of the local workforce. This role emphasizes customized training aligned with industry needs and emerging technologies. In addition to overseeing lab operations the position fosters a safe handson learning environment and works closely with internal teams and industry partners to advance workforce development initiatives.

Essential Job Duties

  • Develop and deliver workforce training programs in the manufacturing lab that address employer needs and support regional workforce development.
  • Maintain and prioritize safety in all training and lab operations.
  • Develop and implement training curriculum assessments and credentials that reflect current industry standards.
  • Provide handson instruction and training on the safe and effective operation of all lab equipment.
  • Maintain a lab environment that supports flexible scheduling and responsive training delivery for working adults and employersponsored participants.
  • Prepare the lab environment with necessary materials tools and supplies to support efficient training delivery.
  • Implement best practices and emerging trends in handson technical training and ensure appropriate crosstraining across manufacturing disciplines.
  • Support outreach and promotional efforts by facilitating tours demonstrations and the development of marketing materials related to the Plaster Manufacturing Center.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to implement preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and procedures for all lab equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and industry partners to identify acquire and implement relevant training technologies and equipment.
  • Contribute to business development process incubation and the successful execution of partner projects.
  • Monitor and report key performance metrics related to training delivery equipment usage and grantfunded activities.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with all college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including participating in commencement attending college functions serving on committees and engaging in community events.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution or the ability to complete an Associate degree within an agreed upon timeframe.
  • Five or more years of experience in manufacturing machining fabrication robotics controls or a related technical field.
  • Strong handson technical background in areas such as mechanical maintenance electric motor controls fluid power robotics programmable logic controllers (PLCs) CNC CAD CAM instrumentation and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to develop and deliver handson technical training aligned with current industry practices.
  • Experience in delivering or supporting workforce development skillsbased or employerfocused training.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety standards; OSHA 10hour certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students colleagues and industry partners.
  • Ability to use technology for instructional delivery productivity and documentation.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends to accommodate training needs.

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelors degree or higher in engineering manufacturing industrial technology or a related field.
  • Experience designing or delivering shortterm workforce training or employersponsored programs.
  • Certification in AWS welding CAM software or other industryrecognized credentials.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ten or more years of employment experience in advanced manufacturing or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas or other training platforms.

Environment:Work is performed in a variety of settings including but not limited to: standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions laboratory space mechanical shop laboratory space and working with extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an active manufacturing setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift carry push and/or pull 60 lbs. to a height of 42; to enter exit and operate lab equipment; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
