Optimally managing capacity in Amazons increasingly complex network of warehouses and Transportation requires innovative approaches in modeling storing validating and processing data for all resources used for fulfilling customer packages in Amazon. We are looking for a candidate who will help us break down barriers and build smart and scalable network management system to give Amazon customers even faster and cheaper delivery. Our technical challenges involve optimizing relational and nonrelational data storage and processing systems to enable our systems to scale at Amazon scale evolving at Amazon speed. Get ready for SQL and NoSQL databases distributed systems map reduce complex business logic and highlyoptimized multithreaded code on the edge of Java capabilities. We are looking for an experienced software engineer to be a key contributor to our success and drive the strategic development of the services.

This role might be for you if:
You design at the product level with heavy involvement through all phases of the SDLC using concepts that may include Service Oriented Architecture caching load balancing relational and nonrelational databases micro services ntiered architecture cloud and/or mapreduce.
You use objectoriented design concepts to program large multitier systems. You have working knowledge of common and useful design patterns.
You have designed refactored rearchitected deprecated and/or implemented largescale cloudbased distributed services with millisecond latency and high transactional volumes.
You have experience implementing best practices in improving team coding culture subjected related to quality and/or security.
You effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to nontechnical audiences.
You are passionate about mentoring and growing engineers on the team.

Experiment with any technology to get the job done.
Use TestDriven Development and Continuous Deployment.
Work with Principal Engineers Principle Scientists and business stake holders to design and build highly available and scalable systems for optimizing and managing Amazon Warehouses capacity management system.
Expand and optimize our worldclass supply chain systems to support a variety of emerging business initiatives.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
