Profile of a Natick Educator |
JOB GOAL: The IT Project Manager reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and leads technology initiatives across schools and local government departments. This role involves managing IT projects overseeing thirdparty vendors implementing new technologies and providing handson training for educators government staff and public service teams. The ideal candidate will ensure that technology solutions are efficiently deployed secure and effectively utilized across education and municipal environments.

QUALIFICATIONS |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Education Public Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience managing IT projects in education and/or municipal government settings.
- Strong knowledge of K12 EdTech tools (Google Workspace for Education Apple Chrome and Windows device management solutions interactive projection systems and sound systems etc.).
- Familiarity with municipal IT systems including ERP GIS public safety technology records management software and MS Office 365.
- Proven ability to train and support educators and government employees in technology use.
- Experience managing thirdparty IT vendors including contract negotiation and performance oversight.
- Excellent problemsolving communication and interpersonal skills.
- Handson experience with networking device management and IT troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements for schools and local governments.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Certifications in IT project management (PMP Agile ITIL) or educational technology.
- Familiarity with publicsector procurement processes and grantfunded IT initiatives.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced collaborative environment serving multiple stakeholders.
Skills:
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual skills especially in Spanish and Portuguese are highly desirable
- Candidates should have a passion for working with students families and colleagues
- Candidates must be flexible and collaborative
- Candidates must be able to multitask in a fastpaced supportive environment that nurtures student growth
- Candidates must be organized and able to meet ongoing timesensitive deadlines for work production
Alternative degrees/experience may be substituted for the above at the discretion of the Superintendent if such a substitution brings a strong candidate forward.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (not limited to) |
Project Management (K12 & Municipal IT):
- Plan execute and oversee IT projects for schools and municipal departments ensuring timely and efficient implementation.
- Work with school administrators educators government leaders and IT teams to align technology initiatives with educational and public service goals.
- Manage budgets timelines and resources for IT projects.
- Oversee the deployment of hardware software and networking solutions in schools and government offices.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and data privacy regulations (FERPA COPPA HIPAA etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to project rollouts.
Vendor & Contract Management:
- Identify evaluate and manage thirdparty vendors providing IT services software and infrastructure.
- Negotiate contracts service level agreements (SLAs) and pricing with vendors to ensure costeffective and highquality solutions.
- Monitor vendor performance ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and service expectations.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the organization and vendors escalating issues as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors to schedule maintenance upgrades and support for IT systems.
- Ensure vendors meet security compliance and data protection standards.
Training & Support:
- Develop and deliver handson training for teachers municipal employees and public officials on IT systems and best practices.
- Provide ongoing technical support and coaching to improve digital literacy and system adoption.
- Create userfriendly training materials guides and documentation for both school and government users.
- Assist the schools and municipal departments with IT transitions including software upgrades and process automation.
Technology Integration & Innovation:
- Help educators integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance learning experiences.
- Support government departments in implementing digital solutions for public services.
- Research and recommend new EdTech and GovTech tools that improve efficiency and accessibility.
- Maintain and enhance IT infrastructure to support schools and municipal offices.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices among educators and municipal staff.
