Are you a collaborative leader who values safety structure and positive youth outcomes The Oregon Youth Authority is seeking a dedicated professional to manage onsite vocational programming and staff operations within one of our secure facilities MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility. The Vocational Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the safe and secure operation of the facility by maintaining visibility observing and supervising staff providing coaching and training and ensuring compliance with OYA policies. You will directly supervise Group Life Coordinators in the Campus Staffing Poolassigning work developing procedures aligned with agency policy managing schedules and monitoring staff performance to meet facility goals.
Description of Duties:
Supervise and schedule Group Life Coordinators; ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
Supervise youth during outdoor indoor and transitional activities; coordinate group movement to maintain security.
Conduct contraband searches and properly handle confiscated items and involved youth.
Coordinate with Security Manager to support staff communication training and orientation of new employees.
Conduct employee evaluations maintain performance records and facilitate ongoing staff development.
Oversee facility operations including vehicle use duress systems radios and key control.
Participate in crisis intervention and emergency response situations.

The salary range listed is the nonPERS participating rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible the salary range will increase by 6%. Please review the Classification and Compensation page for more details.
This position receives annual increases on anniversary date until the maximum of the salary range is reached.

What you need to qualify:
Three years of lead work supervision or progressively related experience; OR a Bachelors degree in a related field.
