Job Description

- In this position the Land Development Engineer leads the technical design for an interdisciplinary team of civil engineers project planners and CAD designers.
- This position reports directly to the Director of the Land Development Department.
- Candidates should be engineers or designers with a high technical competency experienced in land development projects sustainable design utility design and stormwater management design.
- The ideal candidate is experienced with the unique requirements of design and permitting for development projects including schools and other institutional projects and commercial/retail projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor s (Required)
- Experience: Civil engineering: 5 years (Required)
- Language: English (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of design experience on land development projects
- K12 site design experience a plus (but not required)
- Proficiency with Civil 3D and Office 360 products (Excel Word etc.)
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Leads a team in the preparation of project drawings calculations and specifications.
- Prepares engineering analysis design calculations and reports
- Evaluates land use and zoning requirements and is familiar with zoning ordinances and site plan approval processes.
- Prepares permit applications and is responsible for working through agency review processes and obtaining approvals.
- Makes occasional site visits during the construction phase of the work to assess progress and quality of construction.
- Works with dynamic design teams including the owner/developer architects landscape architects engineering trades and contractors.
- Provides mentorship and training for junior staff
