GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Give back to our Wyoming Veterans who have served our country. This position manages the activities of the custodial and Laundry departments. Develop department objectives and establish programs and procedures. Maintain highquality staff and evaluate their performance. Initiate the purchases for all custodial and laundry tools equipment and chemicals. Responsible for OSHA compliance as it relates to custodial and laundry. Providing a comfortable and clean living environment is critical for the residents of the Veterans Home of Wyoming. The person in this position must have customer service as their top priority.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.- Prepares and performs daily schedules and duties to meet sanitation and infection control needs.
- Observes and supervises activities of housekeeping staff including assigning and directing work.
- Performs housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
- Recommends and provides instruction for use of existing equipment/materials as well as new equipment and cleaning methods.
- Maintains housekeeping records as assigned to a particular area.
- Maintains an inventory of equipment and cleaning chemicals.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants with knowledge of large facility cleaning methods and cleaning equipment.
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of inventory purchasing bookkeeping and preparing businessrelated forms.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and practices.
Knowledge of cleansers supplies and equipment. - Knowledge of basic math.
- Knowledge of state and facility policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of universal precautions.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures cleaning methods materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of infection control standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
Associates Degree (typically in Management)Experience:
02 years of progressive work experience (typically in Housekeeping) with acquired knowledge at the level of a HousekeeperOREducation & Experience Substitution:
24 years of progressive work experience (typically in Housekeeping) with acquired knowledge at the level of a HousekeeperCertificates Licenses Registrations:NoneNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (requires twisting bending lifting kneeling pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.)
- Ability to work in various locations (including hot or cold areas) and on a variety of surfaces.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in confined and/or awkward spaces.
NOTES:
- FLSA: NonExempt
- A background information check including the taking of fingerprints will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation the Wyoming Department of Family Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
