Job Description

Prep Cook PartTime

Wage range:$18.00 to $20.00 per hour

What you will do

The Prep Cook supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients and performing essential kitchen tasks to ensure efficient meal service. This role plays a key part in maintaining kitchen organization food safety standards and consistent quality across all dishes served. The ideal candidate is detailoriented reliable and passionate about food preparation in a fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash peel chop and portion ingredients in accordance with standardized recipes and chef instructions.
  • Label date and store prepared ingredients properly to maintain freshness and food safety.
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks such as grilling sauting or assembling dishes as directed.
  • Set up and stock food stations with necessary supplies for service.
  • Follow all sanitation and food handling procedures including proper use of gloves temperature control and cleaning methods.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of prep areas equipment and tools throughout the shift.
  • Assist in receiving inspecting and storing food deliveries.
  • Notify chefs of any product shortages or quality concerns.
  • Support the culinary team with additional duties as needed including dishwashing or plating.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need

  • 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment preferred.

  • Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen sanitation standards.

  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and follow directions accurately.

  • Reliable attendance and commitment to teamwork.

  • Must know cooking methods and procedures including various types of preparation and related routines. Familiar with kitchen equipment. Training in institutional food preparation or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • ServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize EVerify an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma/GED

Physical and Sensory Requirements

  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Use of hands for handling equipment operation and food preparation.

  • Regular exposure to heat cold humidity and kitchen equipment.
  • Requires visual acuity for food presentation and safety; ability to smell and taste food items.
