Description of Job

The salary for this position is:The salary range of this advertisement is based on the currently available compensation plan. If an applicant is hired after July 1st this range will be adjusted during the salary analysis portion to reflect the updated compensation plan.



The Talent Development Unit (TDU) administers and provides strategic oversight for multiple programs that include but are not limited to the Disability Program Navigator (DPN) initiative the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) the Quality Equity Strategy and Training (QUEST) grant Paving Access to Careers and Employment (PACE) partnership Employment Support and Job Retention (ESJR) Displaced Homemaker (DH) Partners for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and other grants and workforce initiatives that may be awarded to E&T in the future. The workgroup is responsible for ensuring job seekers receive highquality training and workforce development services needed to secure employment at a livable wage in an indemand career pathway.

The Disability Program Navigator Specialist will be responsible for the daily administration and oversight of the Disability Navigator Program activities. This position will involve coordinating with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and the 10 federally recognized workforce areas as well as the Broomfield Workforce Center under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
The DPN program was included in the Long Appropriations Bill which allocates Employment and Training (E&T) funds to DVR. This funding will allow DVR to access additional federal funds and enter into 11 contracts with the 10 local workforce areas and the Broomfield Workforce Center. The purpose of the DPN initiative is to increase the enrollment of individuals with disabilities in WIOA Title I and III programs facilitate access to discretionary grants and promote coenrollment in DVR services. Additionally the initiative aims to provide disability awareness training to workforce staff and stakeholders.
The DPN Specialist will provide technical assistance and training to various partners and stakeholders within the workforce system. This includes reviewing monthly program reports in collaboration with DVR providing technical assistance for programrelated activities and ensuring program integrity. The DPN Specialist will also work with DVR and local area staff to ensure that program expenditures are on target and fully utilized by the end of the state fiscal year. Updates will be provided to E&T management for reporting to the Joint Budget Committee (JBC) regarding program effectiveness.
As the point of contact for workforce staff on programrelated topics the DPN Specialist will also serve as a resource for E&T program staff in requesting accommodations providing disability awareness training and is the subject matter expert (SME) on disabilityrelated resources.

Experience Only:

Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position:
