ESSENTIAL DUTIES FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight and supervision of Employee Wellness Specialists and the employee wellness program.
  • Develop monitor implement and evaluate structured evidencebased and comprehensive plans and strategies for the employee wellness program.
  • Assist staff in developing proper educational advancement plans in line with the direction of the Wellness department & employee wellness program; including but not limited to National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited certifications.
  • Collaborate with the Wellness Department Supervisors and Healthy Living & Outreach Managers on programs events and initiatives to ensure all Wellness department services are provided in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate and create relationships with FDIHB supervisory team of each department to meet the wellness & fitness needs of employees. FDIHB supervisory team includes Director of Marketing Director of Finance Director of Human Resources Clinical Director of NahataDziil Director of Infection Prevention/Occupational Health Director of Quality Services Director of Security Director of Adolescent Care Unit Director of Family Advocacy Director of Medical Services Director of Ancillary and any other related staff.
  • Coordinate Wellness activities within FDIHB departments by attending necessary meetings. Provide technical assistance and guidance as needed.
  • Assess the health and fitness needs of FDIHB Inc. employees every three (3) years at a minimum.
  • Create and monitor programs intended to improve the physical emotional spiritual occupational intellectual social financial and environmental health of FDIHB Inc. employees.
  • Coordinate events with participating departments such as health fairs employee runs etc.
  • Create flyers calendars and promotional graphics by following FDIHB inhouse branding and marketing strategies to promote events and services.
  • Create innovative ways to encourage all employees to participate in activities.
  • Promote Employee Wellness programs and consolidate all activities employee wellness related into a monthly Newsletter/Blog.
  • Track the results of a wellness program.
  • Create structured incentive programs for employees participating in Employee Wellness activities.
  • Utilize latest fitness evidencebased research and medical knowledge in providing and evaluating employee health and wellness services.
  • Plan design and implement employee wellness programs and events establish community partnerships and collaboration for resources data collection and evaluation methods.
  • Ensure effective communication between and among the multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective completion of event projects or campaigns.
  • Plan and facilitate group activities and training for staff.
  • Promote health and wellness activities via telephone socialmedia internet and other communication options.
  • Participate in routine records maintenance in compliance with the Privacy Act HIPAA and FDIHB policies.
  • Complete all departmental Quality Monitoring Reports and forms in order to properly track program and employee progress.
  • Consult with other members of FDIHB departments regarding services.
  • Assume responsibility for all budget development fiscal monitoring of Employee Wellness and program expenditures.
  • Coordinate meetings with committees and departments for effective program services.
  • Assume responsibility for meeting project goals and objectives.
  • Assume responsibility for developing and updating policies and procedures for Employee Wellness operations.
  • Oversee the selection and ordering of employee incentives; monitors all inventory and tracking.
  • Prepare program data collection and reporting.
  • Facilitate and coordinate teambuilding activities to all FDIHB departments to enhance communication cohesion and teamwork.
  • Assume responsibility for reviewing completed work assignments and projects. Upon review has authority to accept reject or amend assignments and projects.
  • Develop monitor and review performance evaluations and counsel employee regarding leave performance discipline and conduct.
  • Counsel staff to resolve job related performance and attendance concerns in accordance with FDIHB Personnel Policy and Procedures.
  • Approve and disapprove personal and sick leave based on workload. Maintain employee training needs and may develop yearly staff development plans.
  • Supervise train and expand the knowledge base of employee wellness personnel of wellness operations and other related educational materials.
  • Assign projects/tasks and establish individual project scope with employee wellness personnel.
  • Conduct meetings with employee wellness personnel to explain work requirements methods and procedures as needed. Give special instructions on difficult or different activities and answer technical questions about work assignments. Formulate and issue written instructions and procedures for nonroutine or complex assignments new or changed factions or processes.
  • Sustain a professional relationship with all partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Two (2) years of direct work experience in employee wellness or exercise related field and One (1) year of experience in a supervisory position.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science Kinesiology or related field.

Current Worksite Wellness Certification from an accredited program.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certified.

FDIHB and its facilities are located within the Navajo Nation and in accordance with Navajo Nation law has implemented a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for this position and who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position and members of other federallyrecognized Indian tribes will be given secondary preference. Other candidates will be considered only after all candidates entitled to primary or secondary preference have been fully considered.
