United Colleges Group are currently seeking to recruit a Curriculum Manager for trade qualifications in Building Services Engineering and Transport Maintenance. Courses include Electrical Installations Plumbing Green Skills and Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair all delivered at our City of Westminster College Campus in Paddington Green.

UCG provides education to over 11000 learners a year including 1618yearolds adults apprentices and students with high needs.

With an annual turnover of over 50m we are one of the top 20 largest college groups in the UK. We offer education and training in almost all vocational areas at a variety of levels for a wide range of learners of all ages and starting points.

Our students UCG attracts students from across London and beyond. Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds. In the academic year 202223 we enrolled more than 3500 full time 1618 students 8000 adult learners and over 450 apprentices across our Group. UCG currently enrol 250 HE students per year across 4 campuses onto 12 courses from STEM subjects (Science Construction Engineering and Computing) to Business Music and Professional Qualifications.

We have around 1000 dedicated skilled and enthusiastic staff who always put the needs of our students first and we are now looking for two Curriculum Managers for Engineering Construction and the Built Environment (ECBE) to join our cohort of dedicated staff.

About the Role

The Curriculum Manager for ECBE will contribute to the operational management development and performance of all aspects of the College delivery of teaching learning and assessment across all aspects of provision. Both of these roles will be expected to deliver the implementation of the College Groups quality improvement strategies for elements of the current OFSTED framework. The Curriculum Manager will also work to maintain a culture of continuous improvement through selfassessment and other quality initiatives through the College Group. They will develop Teaching Learning and Assessment improvement strategies in pursuit of an outstanding student experience and will also lead and be responsible for the performance management of teaching staff in order to achieve consistently high outcomes.

The role will be based at our City of Westminster College Campus at Paddington Green. The Curriculum manager will lead on employer engagement and internal quality assurance activities within their areas.

The Curriculum Manager for ECBE will;

  • Hold a teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Hold a level 3 or higher qualification in an engineering or construction related discipline
  • Hold assessor and internal verification qualifications or have experience in vocational assessing and internal verification
  • Have a track record of operational leadership and management in a Further Education setting
  • Have experience of supporting the development of staff in both the vocational area and learning and teaching
  • Have experience of recruitment induction and guidance of students
  • Have experience of contributing to effective curriculum planning design and development
  • Have experience leading and managing staff and effective budget management
  • Have experience in leading and/or coordinating enhancements in quality in the delivery of curriculum
  • Have excellent communication interpersonal and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Have a commitment to meeting the needs of the learners employers and communities that the College serves
  • Have a strong commitment to the Colleges values and mission and equality and diversity for both staff and students
