The Manitoba Mtis Federation(MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Mtisalso known as the Manitoba Mtis. The Red River Mtis are a distinct IndigenousNation and People and Canadas Negotiating Partners in Confederation and theFounders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill onefulltime Case Manager position within our Housing First Program locatedwithin our Southwest Regional Office in Brandon MB. The Case Manager isresponsible for managing caseloads conducting needs assessments anddeveloping individualized support plans in addition to implementing andcoordinating program plans.
Job Duties/Competencies:
Assess client situations and determine the type of services required;
Respond to participant crises and emergencies;
Provide emotional physical social and vocational support to individual clients;
Provide information connect and refer clients to appropriate MMF programs and community services;
Ensure services provided optimize dignity selfdetermination and attainment of personal outcomes;
Assist participants in identifying and developing daily life skills;
Facilitate the improvement of wellness coping skills and empowerment among clients;
Provide clear and accurate program information both inperson and over the telephone;
Transport clients to and from activities appointments and their homes.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work or an equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered;
Minimum of two years experience in a Case Manager role or related experience may be considered;
Minimum of two years experience working with diverse populations or similar work setting;
Experience establishing and maintaining solid working relationships with a diverse array of partners clients and coworkers;
Knowledge in the areas of addictions attachment mental health and trauma and how it impacts families;
Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Employment & Income Assistance and other related systems;
Experience developing and supporting a strong respectful teambased approach to service delivery;
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint);
Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills;
Experience working for a notforprofit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
Knowledge of Housing First Programs and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and
Ability to travel valid Manitoba Drivers license with access to a reliable vehicle.
