The Opportunity
We are now offering an exciting opportunity for Principal researchers (Level D). In this role you will lead highquality impactful research that advances knowledge and delivers realworld benefits. Youll drive interdisciplinary collaboration attract external funding and mentor emerging researchers contributing to a dynamic and inclusive research culture.
We have several fellowship opportunities of five years in duration for outstanding researchers working in our six research priority areas.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading a distinguished and highimpact research program
- Achieving and sustaining national and international research excellence
- Providing strategic research leadership
- Driving major research funding initiatives
- Building research capability and culture
- Strengthening interdisciplinary and translational research
- Promoting equity and inclusion in research
- Advancing academic citizenship and institutional strategic goals
- Providing academic leadership in teaching and learning.
This is a Full Time Fixed Term position available for a period of up to 5 years at the classification of Level D. The fulltime equivalent salary range is $161351.44 to $177756.42 per annum plus 17% superannuation.

About You
You are an established researcher with a strong track record of highquality publications external funding success and research leadership. With up to 15 years of research experience postPhD (or equivalent when accounting for career interruptions) you bring demonstratedexpertise in research translation and impact and are ready to lead collaborative interdisciplinary initiatives.
You will have:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline.
- An established and growing record of highquality research outputs with national recognition and emerging international standing.
- Evidence of securing and managing competitive external research funding including partner engagement and project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability toconduct research that contributes to advancing knowledge within a disciplinary or interdisciplinary context.
Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.This role requires current valid work rights for Australia.
Relocation assistance will be provided to overseas and interstate Fellows in line with VU policy.
