The department is seeking a Program Financial Specialist to assist the Technology Group develop effective financial and reporting practices and to provide accurate and timely financial and resource information and advice across sets of projects and other procurement areas to better inform investment decisions.
The role:
By leveraging your skill and proficiency as a planner estimator budget and funding manager alongside your demonstrable experience managing and reporting project expenses and billing you will help the Agency achieve its outcomes by monitoring and reporting budget effectiveness over project lifecycles.
You will need to be able to proficiently juggle budget resource stocktake and reporting and ensure Budget allocation forecasting and tracking is accurate and timely across large numbers of projects.
You will need to be approachable with a calm demeaner and be available to guide teams understanding of your role and the need for information accuracy so you represent project budget against outcomes accurately to show return on investment and or cost overruns.
Further you will understand and have experience demonstrating how managing program level budgets to schedule can provide insights into effective delivery management and its effect on delivery capacity when project schedules overrun.

Contract: 12 Months Contract with 2 x 12 months contract extension.
Security Required: Must have a Baseline Security Clearance.
Location Canberra Hybrid Flexibility with working from home and in the office and working hours. We request you are in the office at least 3 days per week.
